SB Electrical Group Ltd is a Manchester holding company, registered in England and Wales (company number 16218427), that owns four trading companies: The Emergency Electricians, Mister Electrics, Fuse Box Fitters and Praetor Fire & Security. All four share the same engineers, standards and 24/7 response line.
Who owns SB Electrical Group?
The group was founded by brothers Hamza Butt and Sohaib Butt, who are its directors and still read every group enquiry.

Burnage, South Manchester (M19). The group covers all ten Greater Manchester boroughs and Cheshire East, with no travel charge in that area.

Compliance questions
How often does a rented home need an EICR?
In England, at least every five years under the Electrical Safety Standards in the Private Rented Sector (England) Regulations 2020, with a copy to tenants within 28 days. Full guide.
What do C1, C2, C3 and FI mean on an EICR?
C1 is danger present, C2 is potentially dangerous, FI is further investigation required, and C3 is improvement recommended. Any C1, C2 or FI makes the report unsatisfactory. Codes explained.
How often does a fire alarm need servicing?
BS 5839-1 recommends servicing by a competent person at least every six months, with a weekly user test recorded in the logbook. Servicing intervals.
How often should emergency lighting be tested?
A monthly functional test and an annual full rated duration test, usually three hours, under BS 5266-1.
What are the smoke and CO alarm rules for landlords?
A smoke alarm on every storey with living accommodation, a CO alarm in any room with a fixed combustion appliance (not gas cookers), and a check that they work on the first day of every tenancy. Full guide.

What should I do if I smell burning from a socket or fuse box?
If it is safe to reach, switch off the main switch at the consumer unit, keep away from the smell and call 07703 295654. If there is smoke or fire, get everyone out and call 999.
